The Republican representing Missouri’s 2nd Congressional District heads back to Washington for a sixth term.

Incumbent Republican Congresswoman Ann Wagner is being challenged by Democratic state Rep. Trish Gunby in the 2nd District — which became more Republican-leaning after redistricting.

The Ballwin Republican is squaring off against Democrat Trish Gunby in the 2nd Congressional District, which takes in portions of St. Louis, St. Charles and Warren counties as well as all of Franklin County.

In 2020, Trish Gunby captured a state House district that had been represented by Republicans. Now, she has the chance to do the same in Missouri’s 2nd Congressional District race this fall.

Redistricting turned a St. Louis-area congressional district from a pure swing district to a seat that tilts decidedly toward the GOP.

Reed is one of two Democrats seeking the nomination for the 2nd District seat, which is currently held by GOP Congresswoman Ann Wagner.
