Barbara Baker spent 15 years in prison — but found a way to change her life. Now, she fights to make it easier for other women to do the same.

A bill making its way through the Missouri legislature would allow women who give birth while incarcerated the chance to stay with their newborns in prison for up to 18 months.

The Illinois Prisoner Review Board granted parole to Paula Sims after three hours of testimony and discussion. Sims was convicted of first-degree murder in 1990.
